Why couldn't he do that when he was playing for us?
To be fair he had a pretty decent record with us - 12 goals in his first season in the Premiership is a fair effort for an 'average' striker. It's no coincidence his drop in form occurred just as Michu was emerging. With regard to last night, I can only echo ML's words - we did not deserve to win. We were utter gash and a shadow of the team that beat Newcastle with aplomb.
Someone reminded Routledge he is a footballer - to great performances in a row against high quality opposition.
Wilf proving he is the striker we all hoped he would be - a class player.
As Martinez used to say, the performances are there, the results will come.
Just got to do the double next week now!

Swans are in trouble I think, only three points from relegation zone and in no form at all.
What's going on?
A hell of a lot of injuries and we don't seem to be able to defend anymore. What's going on?
Confidence is at an all time low (witness Ashley Williams just moaning at everyone yesterday - not what I want to see in a Captain) and we need a win against Fulham to reset ourselves.
On a positive note, Wilfried Bony is becoming the dog's danglies.
Didn't help yesterday that Atkinson failed to give us a stone-wall pen when he had clear line of sight from 10 yards away - Dawson basically shoved Bony over to prevent him connecting with a header.
