8 wins in last 35 league games.

Bizarre recent team selection.

Apparent inability to motivate his players.

Spanish clique (rules had to be put in place to limit number of Spanish contingent on meal tables etc.)

Already stated his intention to leave at the end of the season.

Shame but inevitable.

Cheers for the silverware and memories and good luck.

^^ that. Ultimately it's a results business, and the Swans are on the brink of real trouble. Fingers crossed for the rest of the season.

We have a big Swansea fan in the office and he also said pretty much this. Plus he added other rumours about Laudrup not taking many training sessions and leaving to the coaches, that he had lost the dressing, did train when it was raining etc. It was certainly falling apart and obviously waited till the transfer window had closed and sacked him.

Yep fingers crossed! When you put it like that then it seems like the right decision.

Any rumours who's next? Monk is surely only temporary?

Looking forward to seeing Napoli at Liberty !

I believe Malky McKay is available and he probably wouldn't even have to relocate.

Hmmm loads of romours flying round the office like unplanned training sessions. players not turning up or late, not much respect etc. I really hope it's not too late.

Getting messy now as Laudrup seeks to take legal advice against his "summary dismissal".

Brilliant win today, Laudrup would not have got such a performance out of the team, he might have last year, but last year's gone.

Still reeling from a fabulous derby victory.

Hernandez changed the game - an incredible pass to set up Routledge for the first goal.

Emnes looked sharp too which is promising as sounds like Michu is still a couple of weeks away.

Interesting Pozuelo wasn't even on the bench - get the feeling Monk is only going to play those who are willing to do the hard stuff i.e. track back or actually try and tackle...

Looked good tonight. Shame the goal didn't come as away match will be tougher.

Certainly look a better side now.

Just got home from the game, ears ringing like hell. To watch Swansea hold a team like Napoli to a goalless draw makes me proud of what they can achieve. If they go out in the next round I will not be disappointed in the slightest but genuinely proud of what such a small place has achieved. If we succeed in the next game then anything is possible.

We are Swansea City, not Laudrup FC, haha.

Nur, I think you sold us short mate - I was only watching at home (exile) but I would say we absolutely dominated Napoli! So much so I was irrationally feeling down that we didn't thump them 4-0...but for their excellent keepers we would have.

In the wider scheme though I am as you - utterly proud of a brilliant performance.

Hernandez and Chico seem to have a new lease of life under Monk so far.

Bring on Rodgers!

biggrin I was hammered and you are right, to say that they only held them is selling the performance short. Looking back at the highlights today (because, unfortunately, sitting on the half way line doesn't give as good a view as a TV camera) and it just becomes all the more impressive.

This match on Sunday should be something special wink

To be honest I just hope we make a good fist of it.

It would be great to progress in Europe (when is it going to happen again anytime soon?!) but Sunday is way way more important in my eyes.

Are you out there?
