TBH i think i'd score goals at City, our clubs have dithered over Bony & city have just blown us all out of the water,

i'm truly gobsmacked as to why us Spuddies or Liverpool have not signed this this gem of a player .
True. He will have some players behind him and on the wings too feeding him.
I don't think £20m+ was a fee we could have paid after buying Balotelli and still having Borini on the books. If Bony had been around in the summer still and Borini was sold for £10m I think we might have had a bid.
Be interesting to see how he progresses now. He's shown he can do it for Swansea.
I can understand Liverpool not buying him after signing Balotelli but surely even BWB must have known Bony would have been a far better option.

We have a minus nett spend over the last 3 seasons , we really should have at least made an effort to buy this fella.

I will very disappointed if he leaves now but wish him well as he has played with his heart on his sleeve for us. I would have hoped he would stay for the rest of the season but he was always going to leave eventually and if we can get £30m+ for him it's a no brainer for a club like ours.

Huw Jenkins played a blinder getting him to re-sign a new contract at the beginning of this season - thanks to Bony for that too.

Hopefully Gomis will kick on now and vill the void - a very different kind of striker but certainly has pedigree.

My main concern with Bony leaving is how quickly we can adapt to playing a different style. We have become very reliant on him being the arrow head of the team - a lot goes through him in general play as well as his goals.

Yes genius move and good on wilf for going with it.

Gomis works hard and to me like bony is more than just a a goal scorerI really hope all this speculation about him being unhappy is media tripe.

Also think city will steal our bony song!!

Gomis has a buy out clause, thought to be £9m, so if it's matched he's off. Another great bit of business as we got him on a Bosman. Apparently he's known for going to where the most money is regardless of anything else so he'll have no problem in moving on. He only came as he expected to be the main striker, Bony was thought to be sold in the summer, and he's moaned through social media that he's not been given a chance. Let's see how he gets on today. I'm still yet to be convinced.

Yes, I am gutted to. He had cemented himself as the fulcrum of the team and with him on the pitch I always felt we could score in any situation.

Don't feel so confident right now.

Onwards and upwards. We are in the position now where the team will change shape (and probably move back to the sort of style that we had before we signed Wilf) and hopefully that will be a relatively easy change.

A big test for Garry, too. It is going to be interesting to see what he does with the team.

Definitely a period of uncertainty though. On the plus side, 17 games to go and 30 points in the bag, we're well on the way to being safe for another season and in a good position in the FA cup. It's not all bad.

Agreed. Hopefully see Jeff back from injury soon, plus Shelvey to return from his ban.

Great to see the lad Barrow getting game time and making a positive difference, plus I am seeing the beginnings of telepathy between Emnes and Gomis - Routs and Dyer seem to be off colour at the moment so might be good to do a swaperoo for a while.

Need to get Tom Carroll signed up IMO too. Has a very bright future.

Jeff I am looking forward to having back, Shelvey not so much. Too inconsistent for me and a bit of a liability,

Gomis too, has shown his mercenary side in the past with him moving to where the money is and already expressing an interest in leaving the Swans. He may be an alright player but I'm not holding out hope of him staying for any length of time.

With Routledge and Dyer I feel that maybe their time is coming, Rangel too. They have been excellent for us but for us to move onwards and upwards maybe they will have to move on too. Rangel for sure is showing his age, IMO. Although it is good that now we have a bit more depth there is competition for starting places and the benefit of this is obvious. Every time I see Barrow I am chuffed with his obvious desire to play, it is really encouraging.

Carroll does look good, I actually did;t even notice him the first time he played as he fit in so well haha.

Good performance i thought! Bit odd seeing us be on the back foot but when we've played against soton before we've always tried the possession route and lost it, frustratingly , in the dying moments.

Anyone else beginning to question our LONG term prospects under Monk and the current coaching staff? I am beginning to think our poor play and general tactical deficiencies are being masked my moments of brilliance from Bony and Siggy over the course of the season.

We looked utterly toothless in attack last night and our build-up play was so slow. Do you think Monk is struggling to get the best out of the players? Are they coasting because we are so close to the hallowed 40 points?

Will Gomis ever score another goal??

On a related topic, I see Shelvey's missus has taken to Twitter to rip into Monk - pretty sure that won't end prettily.
