Couple of small bits done last week. De badging the boot lid and chrome indicator bulbs. Looks so much neater now.

I'll show mine too then. This is my 3rd scooby and I owned it for almost a year now. Nothing fancy, just a standard UK2000 wagon with 84k on the clock and no mods apart from high flow cat and Prodrive back box used for carrying family around. smile

That looks in great condition. I had my MY00 wagon die of rust on me very recently frown

I've been looking for unmolested one for ages, even got factory cassette player with it. It's mostly rust free, there's a tiny bulge under the paint on one rear arch, I'm planning to sort it before autumn so it doesn't rot through.
I'd get it sorted sooner rather than later. My arches went from looking very good bar a bubble or two to absolutely hideous in seemingly no time at all, I was using it year round in NE Scotland though. Despite the awful arches it was actually the rotting suspension turrets that made it an uneconomical repair.

A common fate for many a classic Subaru.

I stay in Scotland so it rains here all year long, I'll take a look at those then, thanks for advice.

Any idea how much I could expect for rear arches? I was hoping that one of those dent/chip repair garages could handle it without respraying entire panel + one next to it to match the colour.
Not a chance I'm afraid. The problem is that once rust is visible on the outside, it is likely much worse up the inside. Rust is like a cancer and is very hard to get rid of unless ALL corroded metal is cut out and new metal is welded in. It's a difficult job and thus for a permanent repair I've always been led to believe it would be four figures.

It saddens me as I'd love another classic but it seems almost all UK ones have rust to some degree. A fresh Japanese import might be the solution I ultimately go for.

I doubt that very much unless that included other works. £600 or so should see rust cut out and a good repair done properly.

Doubt it no more. A friend of mine had to scrap his as it was an uneconomical repair. The arches are just the visible sign of a far deeper issue, the strut tops are inaccessible, complicated and double skinned in places. If you're looking to buy a classic subaru I'd go for one with a knocking engine before I bought one with a rusty rear end.

Thank you, I'll try to list the spec best I can below, I forget everything I've done to it. I do have a build thread on here.

2.5 Block with Closed Deck Insert and 14mm Stud upgrade.
CP Pistons
BC Rods
Latest Gen Crank
2.0 Ported Heads
Only a TD05-20G at the moment, but I have my eye on a Standard Position GTX3582R, which should be interesting.
Alcatek ECU, looking to go Syvecs
RB320 Bilstein Shockers
Eibach Pro Sport Springs
Whiteline 24mm Front and rear ARB's
Whiteline Adjustable Drop Links All Round
Whiteline Max C Front Top Mounts
Whieline Roll Correction Kit and track rod ends
Front Lower arm machining for max castor
Front Lower Arm Rear Castor Correction Bushes
STI Front Strut Brace
S204 Yamaha Front Under Brace Damper
Uprated Bushes all round
Rear Extended Camber Bolts

I'm sure there's more but I can't think right now.

Never been on the drag strip before, so decided to give it a go at a charity event for Melanoma (SP?).

The Soot is just a combination of build up in the exhaust, Launch Control, Anit-Lag and hitting the limiter, causing a huge backfire and blasting the soot out the exhaust.

Thanks, appreciate it.

Haha... I drive the Type R daily. Its no where near as tidy as the RA and has high km's. Have spent a small fortune on the RA and its absolutely mint so only drive it on sunny weekends.
