My Forester, running 330bhp or so. Fully forged 2.33 engine, Willwood brakes, FMIC, no bonnet scoop, and lots of little bits. A six speed box going in shortly followed by some sort of big turbo, not sure which yet. MD321V, SC50 or rotated something.

Used to be the Evo Fast fleet car, it's got 185k on the clock but is a little bit of a triggers broom. It surprises people occasionally.

The one thing that makes me want to put a FMIC on my impreza is that then I could get a 'gx' bonnet on it and sleeperise it! I've looked at the pipework routing though ,and it's just horrendous.

A few of my most recent Imprezas. I've had a few more, just no pics on this laptop.

Maybe I need a heated garage? smile

Now THAT looks fantastic. I like the smaller wheels and spoiler - not exactly discreet, quietly menacing perhaps.

The Sloo is strong with this one. I saw a cracking blue STi earlier today. Made me consider one as my next car, in a way.

Tony,

I don't often post here, or many other fora for that matter, but I wanted to comment on your car. I had a few Imprezas years ago, one of which was a 2002 UK Prodrive Impreza Sti, much like yours of that era. I saw on Scoobynet (in its heyday...) that you had fitted the non Prodrive grille and that it really worked well with the 'bug eyes' and mono plane bumper of that pre blob-eye model. I copied you and was chuffed to bits with the improvement in appearance of the then slightly awkward appearance of the car (my car was black as opposed to your WR blue). I say 'then' as I think time has actually been more kind to the bug eye variant than to the blob and hawk, as they are referred to.
.
The good old days biggrin after my bugeye I had a 1999 JDM Type R, then bought a Hawk JDM Type20 which I has nearly 6 years and was awesome

To the point. I actually like the 08-on hatch shape. The saloon, less so. Knowing that you know your Imprezas pretty damn well, why did you go for a saloon and a UK spec at that? Especially given that you have sampled and owned JDM variants, I really wanted to know what made you go for the 340R. This is not meant as a critique or a pasting, but given that you could clearly have afforded a Litchfield T20 etc. Why not?
Unfortunately came down to cost the Yen and 20% VAT and model report etc etc makes import VERY dear. IMHO

I asked Iain Litcho the cost of a New 2011 Saloon and a standard JDM would be 44K OTR (with very little profit for him) plus 6K for T20 setup so car would be 50K OTR compared to 35K for the UK

Now I love my scoobs but not that much ,)
Hi Tony,

A very belated thanks for your reply. Been inside offshore a wee while!

Genuinely though, I can see you love your scoobs and hope Subaru/IM/Litcho etc. continue to supply the kind of car that got us all hooked in the first place...

Cheers!
