I toyed with the idea of buying a cheap set and refurbing them myself with stainless pistons etc, then painting them... I've also been on the lookout for a minty refurbed set for weeks. I gave up in the end.

For all the pissing about of refurbing a set myself, I hardly thought it worth the hassle. I finally thought bks to it and bought a newly reconditioned pair from Scoobyworx a couple of hours ago.

Fitting refurbished 4 pots/disc/pads on my RA this week.
Out of interest, did you refurb them yourself ?

I went about putting new front pads in my Turbo 2000 this weekend, and discovered there is a piston seized in both front calipers. No problem I thought, I'll get the calipers off and send them off to Godspeed for a refurb, except that both bd caliper bolts on the offside are rounded off.

I've ordered a set of those bolt extractor sockets, should be here on thursday, then I can send mine off for a refurb.
You can order them from http://biggred.co.uk in any colour you like all fully refurbished and when you get a chance to send the old ones off your car back they refund the surcharge, this way you never have to leave the car withour brakes.

Cheers, Godspeed do the same, and the price for the refurb is £ 235. There are brand new calipers for sale on eBay for £165, with a 2 year or 20K mile warranty, I think the pistons may be chrome plated.

Ah the Budweg WRX Pros Calipers maybe for that sort of money. Much cheaper than new OE ones but maybe for good reason?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Impreza-4-pot-fro...

These with £140 cashback end up costing just under £160. They do a great job as I`m sure Godspeed do too.

Really needed the stretch with the wider concave wheels to clear the arches even with an arch roll and before I fitted the coilovers it was scrubbing. Best I could do was a 13 dead, I was a dumbass and filled the tank the day before as I was on autopilot, sure I could have got well into the 12s if I'd been running a low fuel load.

Bought this in July and I absolutely love it, apart from in the post office this week when I had to part with £475

the only place there's any paint wear on the car is the edge of the fuel filler flap, it's a sign

I've only had this a couple of weeks now, I've owned over 50 sports cars including Porsche and Ferrari, and I have to say this brings a smile to my face every time I drive it on any occasion. It's a turbo-charged puppy dog eager to please.

If you enjoy driving...you must try one.

Nice. If I'd kept my bugeye I would have removed the rear wing and fitted some silver wheels.

Got any more pics?

Just finished overhauling my brakes.

Front calipers refurbished by Godspeed, rears painted by me, and I did new pads all round, 2 new drilled and grooved front discs, and bled the entire brake system, feeling much better !

Very nice! Glad to hear you got on with it so well and thought favourably of it in comparison to your other cars.

If you get past the hooligan image, they are a superb car for just devouring B roads smile

I warm to these more each day that passes. All hatches need the rear spoiler though to finish off the back, i can't believe Subaru didn't fit as standard.

I did the same but with Bigg Redd doing the refurb, went for stainless steel braided brake lines too.
Had to get the white enamel paint out and go over the enbossed Subaru on the calipers as I dont think they look right all in one colour.

Looks a lovely car, classics are the best wink
