I've always liked the gb270 wagons but couldn't justfy the difference in cost when we bought our 56 plate wagon a couple fo years ago. Wondered whether it was worth considering it now? Is the limited production run going to make it worth having in the future? I'm sure I could make the running gear and performance upgrades for less than the cost difference but somehow it wouldn't be quite the same. Anyone had both?

IMO - No. Its a Prodrive Pack on a WRX, with some lowered suspension and fancy wheels. It wont feel different enough from what you have (which you could map and get the same power, if not more - 290bhp with the right mods). Try something different perhaps -P

For the price of a good example of the GB270 you can get a Hawkeye Sti which is a better buy unless you need the space in the back that is.

I had Thule ones which had good padding between the bracket and roof, so there was no paint damage. However, to the keen eye you could see a slight dent on one of the corners. Having said that, I probably did it up to tight...

It wasn't really scratches but a fine scuffing that polished out but was worried about the same happening with roof bars.

We want the wagon, very useful. Not very keen on the roof tent idea!

I've got a 21 but you can't have that! This is our second and I'm realising there isn't a lot to replace it with which gives a small 4x4 estate that goes some. Really quite like the 270 but I'd want low mileage (ours is only on 33K), leather or alcantara and the ICE pack. Think it might be a long wait!

Your other option would be to transplant all the running gear from an 06/07 STi (there will be one or two about) into your own car. Much cheaper than swapping cars, you end up with a very quick and even more capable WRX wagon, and you don't have to stick a coffin on your roof. Sorry chaps but those roof boxes are gash!! How could you do it?
