If I go to Halfords to buy some speakers and get them fitted, what's the likelihood of them knowing what "get the door skins dynamatted" means?

Or get "slient coat" from
caraudiodirect.co.uk

Same stuff, much cheaper.

I'd really go for a local car audio store though. Perhaps a few more ££'s, but much more care and attention to your new pride and joy.

Yes I appreciate what you're saying. I've just emailed a local company so I'll see if they come back to me.

Halfords sell an alternative to Dynamat made by Vibe... having tried both, the Vibe stuff is OK but the Dynamat is better.

FWIW, this stuff makes quite a difference on a Subaru, given they are made from tin foil wink I had a bonkers stereo in my first WRX, and the front speakers sounded a lot better once I got the zing out of the surrounding metal doors...

I have just noticed some rust behind the front grille. Is it something I should worry about? Would the paintwork warranty cover it?

Paintwork warranty is only valid if it's had a service and bodywork inspection every year from Subaru.
WHere exactly is it? Under the bonnet?

I noticed it as I was walking past the front of it. You can see it through the mesh that the badge is on. It does have a full dealer service history

The "slam panel" behind the grille? Where the radiator mounts? They are quite susciptible on any car to a bit of rust.

The bodywork guarantee is only valid if it has an additional proper "bodywork" inspection - there's a separate section on the service schedule for it to be stamped up. I suppose it can't hurt to ask.

I will try to take a picture of it tomorrow. I'll also check the stamps for bodywork inspections. I can't imagine the local dealer being very amenable since I've never used them

Back again! I'm wanting to change the gear knob to something less masculine. Will the old one just screw off? Are there any good places online to buy replacements?
PS I haven't forgotten about the rust post, it's just impossible to get the sunlight at the right angle to see it, I think I must have just been walking past at the right/wrong time.
Going to book it in for its first service/MOT with me soon, scary!

To find surface blemishes and rust etc....look at the car under fluorescent lighting. Shows up everything smile

Not more feminine, just less masculine, there is a difference tongue out
I'm not planning on filling it with pink glittery stuff!
