My Bugeye wagon wrx 'shed'
Discussion
I use Fronts: -1.4Deg camber either side and -0.5Deg total Toe-in, Rears: As factory.
I run factory dampers and springs, just have solid drop links all round. The roads round here are far too potholed and nasty to warrant a stiffer setup so i run with factory hardware and that works for me. I like the compliancy and it stops the car skipping wide at the front on rutted/rippled corners/bends.
They are just my own preferences for my setup, everyone and every car is different though and driving style as well as hardware setup will dictate how you want the geometry dialled in. You'll need to experiment.
I'm never happy with geometry setups by companies that give you 'fast road' settings, and every one seems to be different so it's maybe at this point that you could probably save a lot of money and hassle in the long run buying/using your own wheel alignment and camber setting up equipment which is cheap enough off eBay.
I just like doing stuff myself so i can faff about with it till i'm happy.

So, one year on and the old girl just passed the mot with one advisory. A tyre i abused on one of the sprint days!
So costs:
I had her serviced earlier this year with oils recommended by Opie oils, (Fuchs Titan) including diff and gearbox (castrol stuff) which added about £300. I also had a full 3d geo, and it really transformed the car from being very numb, to having 'some' steering feel.
At the same time I fitted new front discs and pads (Pagid rs4-2's) which are excellent.
Mpg is constant at mid to high 20's but I've recently fitted the £150 O2 probe which should keep it running sweet.
The car still needs some bodywork tlc, but I'm very pleased with how it's run considering its value and miles.
It burns no oil or water, and it's never let me down.
Milage is now 135k ish.

Sounds like a good-un Batty! So costs:

Can I ask re the O2 probe, what made you do this and what was the car running like before the change? The reason I ask is my car is decatted and sometimes suffers running issues and one of the things suggested was the O2 sensor.
Thanks!
Yeah seems that way!
Car seemed to still remain hesitant to boost fully, and ran quite poorley with the a/c running (yes it works!)
I had a live diagnostic done on the car whilst I was driving it, which showed the sensor very slow to react which in turn adjusted the timing/boost etc.
it was a 3rd party item, not the denso one, and it runs much better now which the approved item in place.
I've just bought an obd2 wifi dongle which, with an app shows the car running 12psi (0.8 bar) which is about right I think?
Certainly feels very healthy for 212bhp.

My RB5 pulls really hard most of the time but about 20% of the time decides to be hesitant on boost and after having the codes scanned the garage only found the O2 sensor sometimes goes out of range which is normal apparently for the classics that are decatted.
I don't know enough to understand why it sometimes does that but it gets frustrating sometimes when it does it.

What is it getting replaced by and why did you choose to sell it in the end?
No idea, and because i have owned it over 12 months I fancy something a bit more 'premium' inside really.
Looking into R32 golfs, s4 audi's etc.
I can understand the premium thing as although I love my RB5 some days and when I'm driving distance it would be nice to be in a comfortable car with comfy seats, toys and sound proofing!
Let us know how you get on
