No problem mate it was 4.7k, but needs the side skirts repainting and a wheel refurb.

With that spec I would definitely try it at at least 4.5k first, even privately (mine was from a dealer)

A good wagon is hard to find at the moment under 5k!

Picking up my WRX at the weekend, first point of call will be to get it in with my usual mech for a good service. Apart from oil, filter & plugs, is there anything else worth doing on a 75k car? Belts were done at 50k.

cambelt is 50k or 5 years so worth checking the date.
i prefer to use main dealer filters and any decent oil will do

Gutted frown went to pick it up today, and straight away noticed the airbag light was on. Had a good look round the car in the dry (was raining when I first saw it) and noticed the rear door and wing were full of filler. Had to walk away in the end and get a taxi back to the train station.

Just to rub it in we got to the train station (in the middle of nowhere in somerset) and the only person at the station was David Guest. David fking Guest, just stood in the carpark, alone, smoking a fag. The Mrs chatted to him about Come Dine With Me while I bought the tickets, wondering exactly what had happened in my life to lead me to this point.

All in all a strange afternoon.

Pretty sure PH frowns upon naming and shaming, not really my style anyhow. Suffice to say the little confidence I had in dealers as a group having spent a few years in the trade myself is now completely gone.

Anyway, onwards and upwards, off to view a hawkeye saloon at the weekend, 1 owner from new, maybe my patience will be rewarded thumbup

Apt thread for me (sorry for dragging it out the past).

I'm after a PPP WRX Wagon I think, undecided as to whether to for a classic or a Bugeye. Does anyone have any advice or know of any nice wagons for sale? Budget is up to around £3k.

I would go for Bugeye personally. I think they look great now, even though they weren't well received at launch hehe

Just to spice my argument up a bit, here is my old Bug:

And a couple of my beloved, dearly missed and unfortunate 'mint' Hawkeye Wagon:

Will be selling my 01 in April (Can't sell before as it is with me in Munich). It is a PPP WRX wagon, 113k on the clock, CAM belt changed at 100k, Full history with no expenses spared, even have a spare set of rims with snow tyres (which are on it at the moment).

It is very beautiful and loves the ARAL 102 ron out here.....

For the last year I've been feeling the same. So less than a year after selling my blobeye wagon I'm back in an Impreza wagon. Bought a hawkeye SL wagon the other week. Very happy.

As for which to go for, go for the best you can afford. I'd focus on bugeye wagon's but don't discount a good classic, particularly of the STi variant.
