Do not sticker imo, it looks dated these days, presuming by "sticker" you mean neon green rally livery stickers.

Save your money for a Blitz Nur Spec and a bigger spoiler.
Haa no way! sorry, let me clarify, I meant a PH smiley only.

Totally agree with the neon livery, looks very dated and don't really have the performance under the bonnet to pull it off properly either!

PH smiley has been ordered so just have to decide where to place it now thumbup

Well, after owning the car for approx 3 weeks, I managed this yesterday,

While in a massive rush to get the missus and kiddy to baby group, reversed out of the garage, looking behind me as I reversed, heard a crunch! Hit the brakes, and saw my mirror bent back on itself and cracked and the plastic surround shattered.

Fcensoredk, fcensoredk, fcensoredk! been so careful when putting the car away not to ding the doors etc, gutted! Absolutely gutted and really annoyed with myself for been such a pratt!

At £70 on ebay for a new one its been a pricey lesson too! plus £10 for postage. But at least it's the right colour. It was dispatched yesterday so hopefully should arrive today or tomorrow, can't wait to get it sorted as its doing my head in. absolutely gutted!

£80 isn't too bad for a little mistake. Be thankful it's not a brand new car!
No not too bad, but it definitely hurts. One breakers quoted me £225 for it hurl £70/80 seems to be the going rate.
It still hasn't arrived, but was posted out on thursday. Can't wait to get hold of it and get it fitted, I hate driving around like that, I can use it safely enough, but every time I look in it, it's a ringing endorsement of what a tcensoredt I am.

Coming home from town today, I decided to stretch her legs a bit and go the scenic way home, didn't see another car and was great to get her through the whole rev range after a week of driving around below 3k. Still loving the car and on drives like that it makes me think it was worth every penny!

The kin' wing mirror debacle continues!

After ordering one on thursday with next day delivery and not receiving it friday, called the guy on friday and he said he would look into it. I phoned the guy today to be told that the courier company had lost it and he will be refunding my money.

Fair play, they've been really good and very helpful, not happy with the couriers though, the joys of christmas I suppose!

So on the phone and ebay again today, called one company who had given me a quote of £70, got all the way to the paying stage when the lady over the phone asked if it was a hawkeye or blobeye?

Yep they had a blobeye mirror and didn't know if it would be compatible as 06 was the change over year (I suspect not as looking on ebay, they don't seem to have the black plastic surround on earlier ones, am I right about that?). The only other quote I got was for £225 and they can fcensoredk right off!

Finally found another on an ebay shop, for £90 + £10 p and p. Called and paid for, told it should be with me tomorrow, so fingers crossed I might actually get this one, but I'm not holding my breath!

So am still waiting for a mirror and have had to spend another £20. Brilliant!

Got hold of a new mirror yesterday. As it turned out, they charged me £70 in the end so it came in £30 quid cheaper than it was listed on the e-bay shop. I don't have pay pal so just phoned them and paid on card, didn't even ask the price when I paid as I just assumed it would be £100. Saved myself £10 over the one that never turned up too, so can't complain too much.

I tried fitting it myself.

That's as far as I got. Managed to get the first piece of trim off easily enough. Then got 3 of the 4 screws out. The 4th one wouldn't budge. Went at it for an hour or so until I ran out of day light. I Was going to drill it out this morning, then the other half suggested that maybe I should take it down the garage as, given my luck so far I probably shouldn't go near her with power tools. We both agreed I had failed as a man and that was the best course of action. So I took her in this afternoon.
An hour of waiting around reading a classic car annual and the mirror was fitted. Although I now really, really, really, really want a Lotus Elite!

It was too dark for a pic, but hopefully as she's now back to rude good health, the weather will hold out long enough for me to give her a good wash tomorrow and get her looking nice and clean. With the wing mirror as it was I just let the dirt gather this week.

Needless to say the wing mirrors now get folded in before she goes into the garage! whistle

Right, time for a little bump.

After been out of the country with work for the last 3 months, finally got back into the car last week. It was a little bit lumpy on idle after standing for 3 months but started up ok and after a bit of an italian tune up and some fresh petrol it started to sound alot better.

Now as for my plans, doing as much work as possible myself to save money. That idea isn't really working out too well.

The O/H was out this morning so thought I would have a browse around scooby world.

£600 spent. Major Service kit, hel braided brake lines, EBC redstuff pads (front and rear) and a Vortex Afterburner exhaust (as much as I wanted a nur spec r I just couldn't justify the price) ordered up.

As I ordered all that I really needed a breaker bar and some axle stands and a brake bleed kit, over to amazon it is. Another £100 down. Oh well I'll keep them forever and wont ever need to buy them again, so they'll pay for themselves in a few years rolleyes

Oh and If I'm doing all that work I might as well fix that ding and little rust spot, another £20 on a rattle can of rally blue paint and some laquer.

And if the car is going to have all that done, may as well treat myself to some new wheels!
That'll be £1000 on wheelbase then.

Bronze Sparco drifts, toyo proxies and fitting kit it is!

http://www.wheelbasealloys.com/17_Inch_Sparco_Drif...

Not too sure how I'm going to explain this to the other half. whistle
Think she might actually murder me and I can't really pretend I haven't bought anything as its quite difficult to hide a set of wheels and tyres! Should be able to get a little bit back if I sell my old wheels and exhaust though I suppose.

If I fit all that it just leaves me the cracked bumper and a few little stone chips to sort but I think I'll need to be heading back to work for a few months to top the car fund back up. Should be a fairly well sorted car then.

Although I did get one bargain, found a trolly jack on facebook the other day for a tenner!

Right over to ebay now for a workshop manuel. Also better give my insurance a ring and find out how much more this will cost me!

Also, has anyone changed the diff oil on the car? Is it an easy job, I'm thinking about getting some diff oil and doing it at the same time as i use the major service kit as I have no idea when it was last done.

Cheers, just ordered my own ebay special workshop manual about 2 minutes ago laugh

£2.99 bargain, doesn't look like haynes do a proper workshop manual for it, shame because I love a paper manual and happily pay the cover price for haynes books.

Also some new wiper blades and a few other bits and pieces, might as well do it all in one go while the motivations there.

Finally got some jobs on the car done today. Air filter changed, fitted some PIAA silicone wipers, massive improvement! I can actually see again after using my washers now and more importantly got the exhaust fitted.

What a ball ache, 6 year old rusty bolts and it was too tight to get an angle grinder on it, fortunately remembered I had a Dremel multi tool left round the folks, so a trip to B and Q for some cutting wheels and job was jobbed.

That thing sounds amazing! Even at idle it sounds great, quite antisocial though laugh
Took it for a blat round the local back roads, couldn't stop grinning, every time I've put the key in the ignition and turned it over since I fitted it I've started grinning like an idiot.

Still waiting on the wheels to be delivered, hopefully they should come soon, then I can crack on and do the brakes at the same time.

Found a new crack in the bumper today as well so that job has just got a lot bigger. Will maybe try and tackle the bumper at the weekend if I'm feeling brave enough.
