I'm about to change the uppipe on my wagon. Manual says to apply Subaru CRC to the oxygen sensor, part number 004301003. I assume this is some kind of penetrating lubricant. It seems these sensors have a habit of breaking themselves on removal so I'm trying to give myself the best chance of success!

Will WD40 suffice?!

Thx

TB

Can't answer your question but I had my o2 sensor replaced today and it took a lot of heat and brute force to remove so this CRC stuff must be a bit special. Certainly no chance of re-using mine after removal if it hadn't already failed

Check out denso.I believe they are good quality. I paid about £100 although you may get cheaper if you shop about. Paid about another £80 to have fitted. Could have probaby done myself but couldn't be bothered with the aggro factor. Considered my trusted independent garage would be a safer/better bet if it decided to get stuck (which it did!)
