Just interested to hear what everyone is running?

I've got a Ninja 2 backbox on my classic with a straight through 2.5" centre and standard downpipe. I think this is pretty much perfect; has a lovely deep burble but with a cat in place its not ridiculously loud or intrusive.

My two favourites are the Blitz Nur Spec and the Crawford Gymkhana.

The Blitz has a deep, bassy bark and sounds nice and aggressive. It's pretty loud though, so not for everybody. It also looks really nice.

The Crawford Gymkhana is just a straight pipe with a cone / trumpet end. Very loud, the maximum aggressive tone you'll get from an Impreza. Doesn't look that nice though, and is far too loud for most people. If I were getting an Impreza, I'd get a straight pipe ala the Gymkhana, but with the N1-style look of a Blitz, which is actually the same sort of thing I did to my Civic Type R, where I had a custom built exhaust that looked like a big "Jap can" style Buddy Club III exhaust, but it was a straight pipe system like a Buddy Club Spec II.

For me personally , it's the blitz nur spec as seen here Blitz Nur Spec it's lovely and deep , comes with a removable silencing bung (very loud without fitted smile ) excellent quality and is a perfect fit.

I took mine off and sold it. Power was down (specifically a slight drop in torque) and it was annoyingly loud. They are not designed for power (Blitz stae this actually).

Granted it is very loud, but for the first time user as I'm
Sure you'll agree when you first had it fitted, you'll have the biggest smile on your face. It does sound awesome. But very loud, and can be annoying on a long drive. I hear Jetex is a good brand that remains quiet and has a 3" bore.

I tired of it in about 15 minutes. The fact that it also has a resonator on the centre pipe also means you don't get as many pops and bangs.

The afterburner vortex is the best exhaust from a power point of view, and it also sounds epic.

The setup on the Prodrive Performance Pack on the WRX cars sounds spot on for a daily driver IMHO. Proper Subaru on the outside but you'd never know inside at idle or unless under hard throttle it was any different from standard. Like how it burbles a bit when you blip the throttle too.

Anyone got the full 3" system from RCM?

I've just ordered one from my local specialist but haven't decided whether to have a straight through centre section or a silencer. Going to try it with the silencer first but he had the straight pipe in stock anyway so will manage a comparison hopefully...

My Milltek is a full 3" section with a resonated pipe in the middle and is plenty loud enough. Any more and it slips into chav-ville. It's perfectly fine on the motorway and loud enough if you move with a bit more pace. Not cheap though.

Not got a full system, but have a RCM back box on my WRX. Makes a great noise, but when cruising on the motorway it's not too loud so can travel distances without it getting fatiguing. Quality of the back box is great.

A 3 inch system will sacrifice torque, unless you have a bigger turbo and its been mapped to suit... There was a notable drop in low end torque when I tried the Blitz Chav Spec R exhaust...

I have an RCM 3" resonated centre section and it's lovely and quiet compared to others; resonated section is huge and still produces plenty of over-run\flames smile
