Hi

I wondered has this ever happened to anyone before?

I was driving approx 55mph in level traffic when I heard a loud noise and the car ended up sounding like a Chinook helicopter. I have stainless equal length headers bought about 2 years ago from Japspeed...here is link to exact part:

http://www.japspeed.co.uk/Subaru-Impreza-GC8/Exhau...

It look like the part has clean failed...and there is no damage other than the fracture and break to suggest I'd damaged it. I just wanted to gather anyones views if similar had hapened to them.

Here is pictures:

How the part has failed in the manifold assembly itself:

The car is used frequently and mainly at wekends. I've dropped an email with these pictures to Japspeed and I'm awaiting a reply as to warranty, and whether I can exhange if possible. Its done maybe 2500 miles with the part from new so should not have failed in this way?

Looking for opinions and experiences of anything similar

I'm not sure how long Japspeed warranty or guarantee their parts for, but that is a pretty obvious a bum weld. I imagine they'd probably replace the manifold out of embarrassment, if nothing else. Definitely worth asking for a new one I'd say, you simply don't expect to see a complete and utter failure like that on a manifold of any age, never mind one that is not that old, with only few miles on it.
