Hi All,

My "Expensive Mistress", is now garaged and SORN'd and will need a bit of TLC to be roadworthy again.

This is just a speculative post to ask any Subaru PH'ers for recommendations as to any Subaru Indies who've worked on SVXs and might be interested in taking on recommissioning and maybe suggest some potential upgrades?

The project won't be until early in the New Year, but am just doing research and essentially evaluating options.

The car is in Oxfordshire, but am happy to trailer her further afield if needs be.

Any and all ideas gratefully received.

Probably too far for you mate but I've always used this specialist and even though I don't live in the north anymore I'll always take a trip there for servicing.

They also employ an ex Prodrive mechanic who travels back to Banbury after his working week.

There are plenty of well respected specialists up and down the country but personally I'll only trust Steve and his staff with mine.

I would give David a ring at API Engines(cv33 9pl).I have owned mine for 8 years, done 19 trackdays, blew the gearbox at 14,API did a manual conversion. He is helpful, not expensive and not biased because its an SVX ,like most others. For upgrades,it depends what you are going to do with it,as most are not off the shelf in this country.Cheapest ECU upgrade-checkout ECUtune.com(Michael emery).Brake upgrade(6pot fronts)KAD-£2500,AVO coilovers.Look on SVXworld forums for ideas, parts and Budfreak(moderator)knows them inside out.PM if you want more details. If you are up near Cambridge, and fancy a drive to get some ideas your quite welcome
