Has anyone changed from the standard intake hoses and found that they make any difference?

I have bought the updated Y pipe but wanted to know if the others are worth the money.

Are you talking about turbo to intercooler?

That's correct,

I have read ( could be wrong ) that the intake system is good for 300 Bhp and I am just looking at helping the engine run better, so I was thinking of changing the air inlet pipes to the turbo and then from the turbo to the intercooler as this seems a fairly cheap option.

But not sure if there is any performance to be had?

If not I will not bother.

A WRX that's been decatted will make 270-280 with the standard interwarmer/Y-Pipe, and a decent flat panel air filter.

It will probably make 300-320 with the right turbo and injectors and standard intercooler setup and in all honesty changing the Y-pipe by itself will make little descernible different to you.

What you want is an STi intercooler that hopefullty comes with a silicon Y-pipe or like mine did an aluminium Y-Pipe as it came of a hawkeye STi.

That's where a tuner will be able to make the difference when you decide to remap.
