Ive just bought some drilled and grooved discs all round for my bugeye wrx. Anyonegot any pad recommendations that are a good compromise between performance and price.

Avoid redstuffs. I bought them (read some good things online) and then found them rubbish. The Specialist I subsequently went to said they are terrible and reckoned Black Diamond were a better bet.

Ferodo DS2500

Forget EBC and Black diamond. Cost effective yes. Effective no.

Cosworth track master pads are fairly good value for money, I have a feeling you won't get a rear set in Impreza fitment. Ferodo DS2500s are also a good option, we run those on our track and race cars, as well as Mintex M1144/M1155s. Again these are possibly only available in front fitment. Hope this helps.

I have Ferodos on my Clio, very good but pricey and they sometimes squeal horribly at low speeds.

Loads of choices to get confused over right enough.

My tuppence worth is godspeed know their stuff. Performance friction and ferrodo ds2500 are very good but pricey. As for ebc, i ran yellow stuff pads and found them good on the road and track although they killed my oe discs and a wee bit cheaper than pf or ferrodo. Red stuff are crap, too soft for imprezas. black diamond were ok on the road but crap if pushed and on track.

It's use depending of course, but if ant serious hooning involved then Performance Friction - work well from cold and when boiling hot as well giving very little dust.

DS2500's are more money, very dusty occasionally noisy, and not as good cold

I run Black Diamond discs with Carbon Lorraine RC6 on my classic, a bit squealy when cold but absolutely incredible as they get hotter and hotter. Agree with comment about EBC's Redstuff, they are c**p.

Indeed, was thinking adout a set of Pagid Blue next, so would also be interested in what people felt about them.

I'm running Carbone Lorraine RC5+ and they're damn good.

Squeel under light pressure, and clunk around in the caliper when three point turning due to being slightly undersized though... I find that with most aftermarket pads.

I'm seeing more and more people using Carbonne Lorraine on scoobs, very big in the bike world. Bloody good pads but they are the same as Performance Friction which i believe are just rebranded Carbonne Lorraine smile

Exactly what I've found. Eager to find alternatives.

When warm they are superb but no real use day to day and I can turn my wheels from bright gold to black in an hour of hard driving.

I have just had performance friction pads fitted to my blobeye and so far I am very impressed. Much less dust than the Brembo pads they replace and they seem to work well hot or cold.

They're superb. So far completed a summer's worth of hooning on them in the Forester STi smile

Cold bite is spot on from the first brake of the journey, and I've been across Snowdonia threee times and even at stinking hot big speed down the mountains they keep their progression and power perfectly... and still not much dust. Well impressed smile

I have those on my '02 wagon (RS4-2's).
Stunning pads, great initial bite and no fade at all. Everyone who's been on track with me have commented how she stands on her nose!
More dust than I'd of liked, but small price to pay.
No squeaks either (other than braking in reverse oddly!)
