Morning all,

Am hopefully going to enter the world of Impreza ownership at some point soon however the quote Adrian Flux have given me (£1,400) to drive just the Impreza, is quite laughable.

I paid £845 for a 987 Boxster S, fully comp.

Can anyone help in terms of where to go for a sensible quote?

Thanks

I've also been wondering this. In particualy, are there any recommendations for insurers who recognise PPP vehicles as a seperate entity, rather than having to list all the modifications that make up PPP seperately?

I'm with Direct Line, £649 for my STI hatch. 2 years no claims and I'm over 30. Hoping it will reduce at renewal time as I'll have 3 yrs no claims then.

Best bet to get a rough idea is via a price comparison site, then use what comes back to compare against individual insurers.

Ok the normal culprits are:

Aplan Thatcham - Always brilliant for me.
Adrian Flux - Will either be fantastic or ste, possible customer service issues depending on who you listen to.
Keith Micheals - I think you need to speak to Gary, you won't be ale to, he never answers the phone, if he does answer it will be a decent quote.
Competition Car Insurance - Used to do road policies, but i'm not sure if they still do, they were very good value when they did.

It is always worth trying the Meerkats and Confused to see if any company is quoting well for Scoobys that day, as well as try Directline, every now and then they come out with a stunner, when i first got my Impreza DL beat everyone by a few hundred, the next year they wanted £1000+ more than the cheapest quote.

ETA if the car is modded, imported or PPP then call Aplan or Flux First, they get a few modded cars so will understand a bit more when you start the list.

I just did a quote with Adrian Flux and they came back with £585 fully comp as a 23 year old on a 2003 WRX PPP Wagon, couldn't believe it was that cheap!!

I also spoke to Aplan and am waiting for them to come back with a quote.

ETA: Just got a text from Adrian Flux confirming the quote for my Peugeot 307 - I thought that was too good to be true.

I was only about £650 for a fairly modded Scooby Wagon at 25.
Wagons are cooler, better looking and cheaper to insure.

I went digging around for the best deal and Admiral came in cheapest (I'm almost 24 now).

This was including the 3 points I have on my license.

Surely you just enter your details into www.gocomparetheconfusedmeerkat.com to get close tp the cheapest and then play them off eachother for further savings?

Been with Admiral and associated companies for a few years now and always the cheapest. Pay about £300 for 2003 Wrx wagon, but also try Sky Insurance if it has any mods.

I'm over 30 but only have 4.5 years on my licence with 1 SP30.

My car ownership has been:
Mx5 s special
S2000
987 Boxster s

I have 1 year no claims as was on fleet however I moved to Adrian Flux originally as they said they would take my 3 years on fleet with no claims as 3 years no claims. After I moved my insurance to them they then back tracked and tried to charge me more, back tracked again when I told them to listen to the phone recordings.

£850 for the Porsche, £1,400 for the scooby wagon.......this is the same company that wanted to charge £350 AP for me to be added to my fiancée's Mini Cooper for 6 months....they then revised this done to £75........sorry but that is pretty crap.

I'm <£600 fully comp on a classic PPP wagon with Elephant. That's at 23 and including added nationwide breakdown cover with declaration of exhaust/ECU upgrade (ie the PPP).
