I am surprised to see Mangoletsi offering five year warranty - I think Subaru only offer three years on the STi?

That is correct - from the Subaru web site - WRX STI is covered by the standard 3 Year / 60,000 mile (whichever is sooner) Manufacturer’s Warranty (bumper to bumper, excluding clutch driven plate).

Let's hope Mangoletsi don't mislead anyone with that, then!

KEEP!
Will be trading in the fiesta, for what it's worth (not a lot). It's going in for a respray the end of this week. The STi will be a daily driver.

Just received the brochure, now can't decide on a colour. Didn't know they did Grey. Should I have 2 grey cars, or go for the Blue?

Decisions decisions.

I'm in two minds about the new STI - they look nice in the pics but part of me prefers the previous model with the wing (can't remember the exact model description - the one after the blob eye).

RB5 going for the respray?

Grey or blue...nice dilemma to have. I'd go grey, might pass under the radar (a little!) more and look great next to the RB5 wink

Initially I was really keen but my old mantra of never buying new cars has made me back down.

I am, however, contemplating a 2008 700bhp RS6 to replace my diesel Outback... wink

Mangoletsi are already offering a 350 bhp remap
Unless the pistons are sorted, they're pushing that right to the limit eek

Nothing serious for the respray, it needs the rear arches doing again, also the spoiler needs a smoothing over, and I asked about getting the bonnet done. He said I might as well get the whole lot done which would remove all the car park dings and scratches from it as well. Makes sense really, the arches and spoiler would see the rear doors being blended, and the bonnet would mean the front wings. That only left the front doors and the roof.

Swaying towards the grey now, definitely.

Its not the pistons at that power, its the head gaskets and head studs...

I took the crossroads one out last week.

10/10 steering feel
10/10 handling & chassis
9/10 suspension (slightly too hard. I live in the sticks)
9/10 interior
10/10 seats
8/10 power
10/10 looks
3/10 stereo (why?why?why?)
9/10 value for money.

I do like it but no DIT engine.

I think waiting for the DIT engine is the best option over the 2.5ltr, on the reviews from the states the 2ltr DIT had better power delivery over the 2.5, should be available next year smile

Whoops,
just bought a private plate to go on a Subaru! Better buy the car to match it now. Roll on March.

Are there any rumours that a 2 litre car will come to the UK ??

I spoke to a dealer yesterday, and he didn't seem to think there were any future plans to bring it here.

Personally I wouldn't consider buying a 2.5, but would definitely be up for a 2 litre car that was more efficient and came into a lower Tax band, and there must be lots of other Subaru fans that feel the same way.

Would love another Scooby and will always regret selling my last one.

SBQuattro this isn't deliberately aimed at you (and I'm not trolling) but you just mentioned something that I've thought of before...

Compared to depreciation and fuel consumption (and, in some cases, routine maintenance), VED is a fairly minor cost and is, at least, a known constant. Seems an odd thing to use as a criteria for buying a £30k car!
