2010 saloon buyers tips?

Hi guys,

My brothers away to look at an impreza saloon on a '60 plate. It has the 340R kit too.

Is there anything he should look for? Any problems with the 2.5 engine?

The 2.5 has two main issues relating to ringlands on the pistons and head gaskets. The last saloon sold very few so there was less reports so whether this points to a more reliable engine or not is unknown. I'd save your money and import a JDM.

Either import, or buy with reserve funds for a forged rebuild... The latter will result in a sought after car come sale time...
