Right then,

I'm booked in to do Oulton Park on November 4th, I have a Widetrack STI with PPP, and a Blitz Nur Spec R exhaust. I know Ive no chance of passing noise testing with the current set up.

Now I was getting stressed about getting sent away from the track day before it had started. I managed to borrow a soundtester/decibel-meter from my old man's work. Got him to stand behind the car 0.5m away at 45deg, held it at 3/4 revs and got approx 100db.

I then fitted the silencing bung, repeated the test, and got......................100db <facepalm>

Anyone recommend a decent trackday friendly system for not a lot of cash? As I'm immature and would still like to run the Nur Spec on the road.
My other option is the get a silencer box made up at a custom exhausts place with a downturned tip, and mount it AFTER my backbox, along the rear bumper at 90deg to the normal exhaust direction.

Like so:

Or even a plug in silencer, like this:

Help!

Grab a prodrive back box off eBay. You'll pass fine with that. Or even get a standard back box.

I used to stick a standard one on when I did track days as the afterburner I had was loud.

Backbox won't mate up to my 3" centre section... As that was my plan.

Get a 2.5 centre pipe then. The blitz 3inch mats to the standard 2.5 centre cat.
