I was just wondering if anyone knows where it is? I've had a look at the engine diagram on Opposed Forces, yet can't seem to find it on the engine.

A post in another forum states that the location hasn't moved for 2000 Legacy's all the way up to 2008, but photos seem to be sparse, with ones online not giving any detail as to where they have been taken of. A photo of just the sensor and block don't help!

Any help will be great. The Legacy is 2006 Gen4 2.0R.

Found it!

The connector had doubled back over it and there is a pipe which was blocking it from view.

So carry on all...

Don't tease! Are you willing to tell the class where it is?

Y'know, just in case.

The hesitation problem is still causing issues. A cracked knock sensor can detect false knock and retard the ignition without throwing a fault code, so I want to rule it out.

Yeah been through all that. Car already had the updates and the MAF voltage was low so replaced that as well. So hopefully its the knock sensor, if not possibly the EGR valve, or clogged pipes from the EGR.

If it's not any of that, then it could be a problem with the AVCS - which I would guess, won't be cheap.
