Just wondering whether anybody currently owns a 2013 model XT Forester ? I'm tempted to buy one having driven one at a Subaru event.......I'm curious as to real world fuel economy and how the car is to live with......

I bought one in the US after moving there recently. I've had it for a year now. I get about 20-22 mpg in town or when I drive it hard and about 33 mpg on the motorway. The CVT helps fuel economy a lot. It's actually just as economical as the 2013 USDM Impreza WRX that it replaced, despite it being about 200 kg heavier. It doesn't feel much slower either, due to low rpm torque from the new twin scroll turbo. I find it a very comfortable, roomy and practical family car. The suspension is stiff enough for spirited driving but it takes a while to get used to the body roll of you are used to driving cars - although there is not much roll for an SUV. The only downside is that the Bridgestone Dueler all season tyres don't stop that car that quickly in warm weather.
