Hello all!
I just have my `07 legacy 3.0R auto sedan/saloon, not specB and I wonder something. Previuos owner fitted bilstein b8 shocks, H&R coils and brembo brake set. Does it make it feel specB ride as I never tried one and don`t know where is the difference. I also drive mondeo 2.0 so the power is quite enough smile

We bought a 56 plate, 75k mile 2.5 Outback SE (leather, sunroof, climate, etc) in January and are delighted with it.
I looked at the 3.0R but it was auto only - the Subaru auto is VERY slow and old tech - plus the £500 RFL was a pain. We also have an M135i for speedy kicks.
The engine revs freely, is responsive and although only 165bhp, the excellent chassis with proper 4WD means you can hang onto some pretty high speeds. Ours is more off road biased and I have very un trendy 16" OEM wheels on tall, all weather tyres but that does mean I don't panic about potholes and the joy of not really caring is most liberating. It's also very good off road.

The main downside is the hifi - it's TERRIBLE. The head unit is okay but the speakers are so dreadful, it's almost funny. I've replaced the fronts with JL Audio component speakers and properly sound deadened it - even that has transformed it. I'll stick an active sub under the seat soon.

Overall it's been a great buy and I reckon the Gen 4 looks quite good too. Mpg isn't great but then neither is fixing diesels every other week (it replaced a VERY unreliable but expensive VW diesel, bought new).

There have been a few threads on the H6 engine that hint at chain problems. Dose anyone have experience of this, how it got sorted and by whom?

This is only an issue if incorrect oil has been used. These are Subaru's strongest engine. Any indie will be able to inspect it though.

hi there, not sure if this topic is still valid but....my husband has a 55 reg Subaru legacy 3.0 spec B (saloon) manual, and he is looking to sell it. looking on Autotrader there isn't a single other version of his car for sale, not in manual anyway. is it quite a rare car? we are struggling to make sure we put it up for correct price. it is all pretty much standard, haven't done anything to it as its really been a family car. can anybody help?

thanks!

Will depend on how it's been cared for and any body work needed. Have the weak points been looked after or replaced - brakes, exhaust, suspension bushes etc. Manuals are more desirable. Maybe £4k'ish?

Just seen this thread. So glad others like these too, I have had so many legacies over the years and the newer ones are just absolutely awesome. I am borrowing the blue one at the moment from my friend at www.akagiauto.com she has a silver manual too but I just love the leather trim and wheels on the blue auto. I took it to gatwick last week and when you put your foot down the exhaust just seems to open up and gives the most tremendous wail! Bank for your buck, I doubt you can get better...
