I am buying Subaru Impreza automatic 2003 when turn ignition on only goes far as lights on won't start until press brake pedal is this normal its 2.0 GX model

It's a automatic I am hoping get advice asap

Is the immobiliser on? You only get something like 20 or 30 seconds from opening the doors to starting the engine without the immobiliser coming on.

With key in ignition and all ignition lights lit up on dash, push the 'open' button the key again and then start car.

its absolutely normal, most modern cars you have to press the brake or clutch pedal before the starter will activate.

Some/most automatics won't start until you DO press the brake pedal whilst turning the key!
