Odd noise following service...

Really hoping that I haven't broken it already....
I bought the car a few weeks back now, 00MY Impreza UK turbo.
As per usual, the first thing I do was order the service parts. I put a fair few miles and a lot of shorter runs on it while they arrived, no problems to report.
After the oil change (oil only as I couldn't get the filter off!) the car has started making a very brief screech noise on start up. It only lasts two seconds or less and it only happens if the car has been left a few days, but it never did this before the oil change. Once the car is running it's absolutely fine.
Is there something I could have done to cause this or is it just bad timing? Are there any common faults that match these symptoms?
