Ughh, no, the exhaust was not my doing, or the chap I sold to

It sounded just epicly fine the way it was smile

The equal headers make for a definite jet engine like sound on full beans

A real good motor that. Engine, 'box and in fact whole car seemed so well engineered, balanced and totally bullet proof

In the end it was just too fast to get on the fun for me smile I went to a V5 Type R (which I still have)

However, all that did take a fair few miles of grins to realise smile

Enjoy, and do post up updates please. I have a real soft spot for that car

Edit: I remember now, it was a very nice H&S

Tooooo fast??

Nope have not found that yet.

I took it out the other night to do a tunnel run and wow, That engine at full bore is just Bonkers!

You are right, sounds like a jet fighter.

Really cheap to insure as well.

Will keep you informed... Also new front lip bought..

Well that will last at lease a week I think.

Who did you go to insurance for? I've had some quote varying by over £300 with mods declared obv from 'specialists' to household name companies.

It is indeed, I posted on th thread a few months ago in the hope the OP would see and reply but he's not been on since I don't think. Just thought I'd share a pic of mine now I've got it.

It's got AST coil overs, 3" cat back revolution exhaust, couple of under bonnet things and remapped by Andy F 10 days ago. He put the power around 340 / 360. I love it smile

Sweet. One of the best Scoobies I ever had. The engineering synergy made for an almost telepathic ride.

And as for that 2l twin scroll...

Enjoy

Hay there,

Bloody hell yours looks clean!

Mines more driven than garage queen, took it to watch Classic Spa 2 months ago and it's quite sensible. You can even fit things in the boot!

I picked it up tonight from Datum Motor Sport, had:
- two new rear bearings
- drive flange
- new oil
- new trans oil
- new Gio setup.

Back on track and driving amazing again!

;-)

Bonkers car, love it!

I am with Direct line.

Seems reasonable at the moment, buts look around when it finishes.

That's a solid run out it's had there, I've always wanted to do a European roadtrip hopefully next year.
My one has only done 4k miles in the last 4 years, I did 600 miles last week! It will be driven plenty but I do like to keep my cars clean and tidy too. I need to buy some new mats to keep the original ones in good condition, probably pretty hard to get hold of replacement originals too I'd have thought.

Hey Arthur, nice to see the car being used well smile

Does it still have the Eibach coilovers fitted? For a coilover, I was impressed with their performance

No the suspension has been swapped back to RB320 setup before I bought it, handles really well.

I am part of a driving club so I drive it only on a Sunday normally, but have already covered some great drives.

It's a 59k at the moment, but will no doubt be going up as looking at more driving holidays.

I had a S3 for 9 dull months, within 9 sec of driving this I was hooked !

The twin scroll makes the car, as I have had a WRX PPP ... But this is just bonkers!

Quite funny as I am a business man, so turning up to a meeting in a suit then getting out of the STi really confuses people.

Question you both maybe able to help with, the rear diff is makes a low rumble, does this have a std STi rear diff? Or is it a special?

Cheers.

Can't help with the diff...

That car (was) runs ~360/360 which I thought a sweet spot for it, and the new age cars (~330 for a classic). Do you agree (sounds like you might wink )?

Can't imagine what Higgins' 600BHP TT car goes like

I can't help with the diff either sorry, I haven't noticed anything untoward and I had wrx ppp like yourself a few years back too! I think it would surely just be a standard rear diff, I can't imagine Subaru changing it / modifying it for this model.

The JDM cars have a plated 3.9 rear diff, the wrx ppp will have a basic 3.54 lsd

As another former owner of this car (hello Arthur) I feel qualified to comment smile

The Eibachs were okay for coilovers as you say but no match (on the road) for a decent shock/spring setup.

Rear diff is the plated item that came standard on the MY04 Spec C and optional on the regular MY04 JDM STi which otherwise came with a Suretrac version.
