I'm looking at moving to a Spec B Legacy (MY03-09). I'm trying to pick between the 280bhp 2.0turbo JDM models or the 245bhp 3.0 na UK models.

Mrs Taxpayer like the large panoramic sunroof on the UK model, but I haven't spotted one on any of the JDM Legacys. Was it fitted to the JDM 2.0 Turbo or is it just not pictured in the various pictures I'm seeing on car selling websites?

Thanks

cant really answer you question but my outback (UK) has one of these roofs, and the cover on the roof is closed all the time, The only time is has been open in the last 2.5 years has been going through tunnels, cos the kids like the lights whizzing past and on a day this winter when they wanted to see the frost melt on the way to school.

with the cover open its pretty brigh, which generates reflections on the screen, and with the roof open the resonance is unbearable over 30mph.

I expect it would be pretty cool driving somewhere very dark at night with the cover open, but I wouldnt let it make or brake a deal, unless of course the wife demands a pano' roof, in which it will dictate what you buy

For balance, I have the cover open on mine most of the time. I love it, it makes the car bright and airy. I think the JDM cars generally don't have a sunroof though.

My Outback has the larger roof and the cover is always off. It's not quiet when it's off but the extra light into the cabin is great. I looked at a Spec-B before we stumbled across our 3.0R and only treated it as a bonus. Two very different cars so the sunroof is a small difference compared to the rest.
