Count on it smile

What are people's opinion on the facelift v prefacelift look? Mine is pre obviously. I can't decide on the front but I think I prefer the facelift rear lights. Are those interchangeable?

Well.

I have a facelift version but prefer the og one.

As for rear lights, personally i think the facelift ones only really look good on black because of all the surrounds and whatnot.

Congratulations on your purchase as well.

rear lights should swap over ok. face lift was mainly the front end. bonnet, wings, grill and bumper were different.

Ok, just picked up the car and drove it 200 miles home. All good but a couple of questions:

- The car is running the pink sti springs. How do these compare to oem? I'm guessing it's sitting a little lower but wondered how much? Ride seems reasonably good.

- Is wind noise around the wing mirror area normal above 60 or so? I'm not sure it is the mirrors - may be the aero strip which runs along the door frame.

- the guy was trying to communicate something to me but I couldn't take it in; something about the ecu switching to a more conservative mode when the fuel drops below a certain level? Any ideas what he was on about?

Thanks folks. Photos when she's mopped.

Wind noise is the gusset, triangle on the wing mirror. Loads of suggestions on how to fix it on subarru forester.org. IMO replacements is the only solution at £100 a piece.

Thought they all ran pink STi springs.

AFAIK, pinks will lower approx 20mm but give a little more roll.

I also think the wind noise is generated by the bonnet being aluminium. At certain speeds, you can notice a little lift on the edges of it.

Love that ! This has appeared not too far from me, I'm tempted to go and look but would buy it if was spot on, then the Mrs would castrate me.

Thanks folks.

It was the gussets combined with tired door seals. Refurbishing in progress.

WR1 - nice. Had one myself.

Looking good Macky

Pink springs are STi and as said they give more roll, really being too soft for the amount of lowering they provide

Roll isn't too bad really (for what it is) and I'm really enjoying the compliance and comfort - almost WRX-like. An uprated rear arb should compensate nicely I would have thought. On the list...

I agree, my Son and I had a look at this over the weekend, it has the makings of a stunning car, the alloys need a refurb and its screaming out for a buff and a good detailing, again it's too much money but I have the urge to own one now so I will keep looking, would prefer a white one.

Wheel refurb £200 if you know where to take it.
Paint correction and detailing is a day's work. I'll do it for £100 for you...

If its any motivation, here's how I got mine for the weekend, do bear in mind, mine is daily driven and a long way from perfect!

and a bit of a reflection shot!
