Hi,

I wondered if anyone could help me with an electronics question about a new Toyota Yaris? I find brightly lit instrument panels on cars cause problems for my eyes. However, the Totota Yaris one is pretty good. There is a only a dim grey LCD screen with black letters to display the speed and I strongly prefer this arrangement.

However, when the headlights are turned on, there is a sort of pinkish light that lights up both the numbers of the speedometer, and the whole of the LCD screen. I don't like this extra lighting and I am wondering if there is a way to disable it. I wondered if there might perhaps be a single fuse in the fuse box that controls both of these lights, and that if I removed the fuse, the lights might stop turning on? There is no dimming control to make the backlight dimmer.

I wondered if anyone could give me advice on how to disable these lights and whether removing a fuse would work?

Thanks!
