considering mpg is better with a higher octane and you have more power I don't get why people want to use 95 octane rating , if you drive the cars sensibly you can even get decent mpg for what it is , you won't ever compete with a two wheel drive diesel but I want to enjoy what I drive and not be in a boring metal box of some modern cars

With respect GravelBen, on the basis of the above and that you've been saying for years that your GT-B comfortably averages 30 mpg, I can only conclude that 1 gallon of 95 RON in NZ is equivalent to 1.5 gallons of 99 RON in the UK.
I challenge you to find one single time that I said that. Or stop talking out your ass and misquoting people to try and make yourself look clever.

I'm not normally a stalker nor especially prone to arguing the toss, but you did ask for evidence I promise you no-one in the UK achieves 30 mpg in a turbo Scoob unless they are trying really, really hard.

I'm not surprised if UK driving tends to be thirstier in general though, massive difference in traffic density etc - I live on an island slightly larger than England and Wales combined, with a population of just over 1 million.
I should have clarified some people buy a performance car and then expect to run it on 95 which is a bit of a false economy if that makes sense , the mpg I think I could possibly do average 30 mpg but you woukd try very hard , I do get 32.5 to 35 on long runs the 32.5 being a full load plus 3 people on board the 35 being me and other half plus a bit of luggage as I some times drive like an old fart

Ah yes, I catch your meaning now and agree. I think mine worked out similar cost/mile or possibly even cheaper on 98 than 95 due to the improved economy. Just the availability thats an issue for me (rural area etc), but thats not the case for most people.Gassing Station | Subaru | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
