hi i'm sure cars drive different to the fsti , all i'm saying was it's on boost at 2200 , i've found the boost works well
from 2200 upwards , my ver 7 sti jdm needs to be driven harder to try and even catch the fsti off the line which it could not as the mrs left me for dead , but may at higher speed over take but at the time it's got a lot of distance to catch up with , i like the fsti as better mpg 35 on a good run fully loaded , 27 average , enough grunt v reliability and a good boot size , so far a full sized bath sink and toilet in the back , horses for courses fsti drives well , a spec d v fsti there was nothing in it possibly fsti quicker off the line , boring if we had the same cars , i've not driven a twin-scroll so i don't know , the cost of them and being rarer put me off , fsti are at good prices now , i also found out tune and mod a car too much and mpg is not good , i wanted mine as a daily drive with a bit of fun ,i'm still tempted by the rs though lol
Curious, but were did you learn to put a space before a comma?

Capitals and paragraphs would make for an easier read as well.

I agree the FSTi is a little gutless below 3k - or at least mine is and that has a Bob Rawle map. In any case, is it not best to avoid accelerating hard from low revs with these fragile pistons? I never give it the beans below 3k anyway. After that, it flies.

the mrs one is forged and seems to benefit from it is a much quicker spool on it , it was mapped by some one else
so that is probably it , other fsti as per recent post is at subaru4u hg leaking and getting that forged just annoying i have to wait so long

And if you're going to pick someone up on missing a 4WD car, don't do it by posting a pic of a RWD car.

Fair point, although that would be 'spelling', not 'grammar'. And when it is a correctly spelt word, just the wrong word. Inline spell checkers won't pick it up.

copying subaru as in now using 4 wheel drive for better acceleration when they have normally said 2 wheel drive was fine
As per a later post - I was referring to Ford's use of the Fergyish 4x4 layout in the XR4x4 from the mid eighties and in the Sapphire Cosworth and then Escort Cosworth.

It's much closer to the Subaru layout of today than the Focus is, less a bit of trick stuff in the centre on the sti.

The next engine wont be a 2.5 (thank god). it will be a 2 ltr again (twin scroll)
This engine is already used in Japan, the 2ltr FA engine which will replace the EJ20.
Isn't that the engine everyone (who doesn't have one) slags off in the BRZ/GT86?

It is - but they do have turbo versions. Already in the UK on the Forester and Levorg - although I *think* it's referred to as an FB.

The FA engine in the Forester XT and BRZ is a 86mm x 86mm square engine. The 2 litre FB in the XV and Forester XE is a long stroke 84 x 90 engine, the FB engine has lighter pistons and con rods and is designed for lower power outputs with more focus on economy.
The Levorg has a 1.6 turbocharged FB engine.

Weak smile As an English teacher, I can assure you that using an incorrect but closely related word (were for where, their for there, when for went) qualifies as a grammatical mistake.

Having driven it yesterday, I take it back; the FSTi does pull hard from 2k - it's just I never do it as I'm aware it does the engine no favours.

my FSTI generates over 300 lb-ft of torque @ 2500rpm and 398 lb-ft of torque @ 3645rpm so not sure how anyone feels them as a bit flat?
