Impreza 6 speed whine after hard driving. Help?

Heey guys,

I got an classic impreza with the JDM 6 speed gearbox. Complete with the rest of the suspension of the 01 sti.

With this gearbox i got the following issue: When i drive it real hard around a industrial area or something especialy when i do some sliding with it. Then after a couple corners i hear a loud whine in first and second gear. But when i st to third i sound like it is gone.. and if i drive like 1 or 2 miles normal the sound is gone..

What could this be? A bad bearing or something..

it fluid has got really hot it will get thinner and you may get more noise , try changing the fluid , get a decent make , both bolts need un doing on the gearbox , a bit of pipe and a funnel to fill it , i probably would not use the motul 300 gear oil it's good stuff but tends to make more noise , i assume driven normally it's ok , i would do the diff oil too as that takes more of a beating than the gearbox oil and tends to be dirtier
