I was going to say MPSS - had them on several cars and they are brilliant
almost as quick on the GT3 as the Cup2s
If they are are safe fit, that's where I'd be spending my £

BTW Mrs's WRX STi is running Mich PS2's - very good grip in everything but snow/ice and exceptionally low wear

they seem to do 215/45/17 or would a 225 fit as long as it's not stretched on the wheel
personally, I wouldn't change from the factory 215/55/17. dropping to a 45 profile would reduce the diameter by -6.5% which is really too much.

plenty good tyres out there though to choose from.

225's would be a bit much I've offered a set up before, oem states 205 or 215,

M.o.t in the morning so after its passed I'll make a decision,

I run 225/50R17 Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance. Very good reviews and experience to date is they do all the right things quite admirably. When the time comes I'll be refitting EGF's again.

I have Kumho KU39 as the summer tyres on my WRX wagon and Vredestein Wintracs on the winter wheels.

I have had the rainsport 3's and the Michelin cross climate on my WRX wagon.

cross climates by far the best, exceptional in the wet and seem to wear really well. also massive advantage of not having to change to winter tyres in the winter just in case of snow! nothing worse than 4 x 4 traction but summer tyre stopping and turning!

I have just got a forester which came with budget summer 225 x 50 x 17's on it and I have just switched to conti 850p winters and it has transformed the car! I did want to get cross climates but they are bloody expensive for 215 x 55 x 17! and I got the contis second hand (but 8mm tread)going to try running the winters all year around and see how they go......but I do live in Scotland so it is rarely above 20degrees! after that I will bite the bullet and get some more cross climates!

Cheers Paul

I think the cross climates were about 143 a corner, know someone who was complaining about the amount of stones that were being picked up by the tread pattern he had a couple of punctures aparrently,

Anyway done a couple thousand miles on the rainsports in the last 2 months and more than happy with the wet weather performance,

I've not run into any issues that other users have in the rainsport thread,
Burning though them in 4 months ?

Wear seems OK so far

Stants I've chucked a set of Rainsport 3's on the wife's Mazda, compared to the old Pirellis they're night and day, very impressed with them so far. They're not obscenely expensive either, I was quoted at 76 quid each inc VAT, fitting etc from my local indy tyre place for the Subaru size.

My Subaru currently has Goodyear Eagle F1's which are nice and grippy but all 4 will need changing toward the end of summer I reckon.

Rainsport 3's on the Legacy. Good tyre, but starting to become quite noisy on the front. Ready for rotating again but a couple of psi under what they should be and they are even noisier. Might try another brand after these. Had Uniroyals for the past 10 years or so on various cars. Surprised they don't do an all season tyre over here.

Mdma what pressures do you have on the leggy ?

With the 16's I used to use the manufacturer specifications 29/26 with the 17's I've gone to 30/28 as it felt a bit squishy.

Was around 34/32 f/r but upped it to 38/36 now. Might drop to 36 all round as a little floaty at the front now. Or might just feel a lot lighter as been running a Vito during the week as it's a heavy beast smile
