WRX Wagon - write off?

Rear ended on the motorway at the weekend ( http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... ).

- Boot floor crumpled and it also looks like sides of boot have been pulled together resulting in the lights not fitting.
- ARB, bracket and mount bent.
- Exhaust bent.
- Rear subframe has been pushed together where the exhaust has been pushed back, but only slightly.

Anyone know a good place to see if its repairable in the south west?

It took me months to find this car: last of the 2.0l, Prodrive, blue, low miles, and a wagon is not a common combination!

Shame. Looked like a nice car from the pics. Not be a cheap repair. You planning on write off/buy back/pepair at own cost?

How old is it ?

Although going by the shape, it's not been made for a while.

Looks like a 03/04 wagon? Afraid to say it will most likely be a write off as repair will be uneconomical (more than 30% of car's value). Think the car would be worth around the £4k mark, at least hoping it's around this as I am possibly going to be selling mine next year. Repair will be a couple of grand at a good body shop at a rough guess.

Its a 2005 so low tax band too and had Prodrive bits. Very low miles for the age. I will try to buy back if the price is reasonable. I really liked the car as it did everything.

What I know is going to be irritating is the fact that the default insurance value for the car is low vs. reality. I set the value with my own insurance and had paid extra for a 20% uplift on that value so I could replace like for like.

Need to get some quotes for the TP insurance company but not sure where from.

05, 50k, prodrive wagon. Cant find any WRX similar for anywhere near 4k. And its a wagon so cant find anything similar at all. Concerned aswell if they repair it will devalue. Im not the sort of person to lie about accident damage if I sold it on.

sorry to hear about this never nice when it's your pride and joy , it sounds a lot to repair is it not a write off due to that , even if repaired will it drive ok plus the added issue of future rust even if it is re sealed after being repaired

you won't need to. it will be recorded as written off if you decide to go down the insurance route and buy it back. be good to keep the pictures if you decide to fix it so if you do decide to sell on, you have photo evidence of the damage.

it's a shame about the car , i hate getting rid of a car but after a write off plus all the boot damage i woukd not get it repaired as it may not drive as it was again , it maybe better buying it back breaking it using parts and getting a new wagon
