Evening all, wondering what people have done speaker wise in their foresters?

Mine are standard and terrible, no bass and can't turn them up without the cardboard bouncy tone.

Any tips on what to put in? I saw what looked like a boot mounted sub that didn't interfere with load space? Does such a beauty exist?

I think I've read the fronts are 6.5" and the rears can fit 5.25?

I'm not looking for the Halfords bass set up but would like to be able to crank the music up sometimes.

i went to my favourite supplier lol ebay , there were speaker sets already specified for an impreza and about 50£ later with reasonable brands i was all done , i also did a base speaker and used the cigarette boot supply as it does not draw loads of power , the speaker can be un plugged and removed for more boot space , halfords or a car audio shop will do speakers all depending on the budget you can't go too deep due to the electric window and i personally would not butcher the door to put a bigger speaker in , the other important thing is cd player again depending on budget , i paid 105£ for a 65 watt x4 cd player with built in bluetooth double din at halfords , on that foz i just did the cd player only , the other foz was cd player speakers and bass speaker , the speakers were done as they were past there use by date

MDMA .

If you have had the factory headunit removed and replaced with a UK one, it no longer powers the factory sub in the rear. Just connect a replacement sud and the bass will return.

Thanks, I'll be investigating this weekend. I switched the headunit two years ago but never realised it had a sub or that the rear bench slid forward...

I've got Hertz components to fit front & rear in my 04 Foz. I had them fitted to my 06 WRX Impreza and they are fantastic. Really amazing improvement over standard.

Eventually I'll also be doing a standard sub upgrade to replace the pants oval sub in the side of the boot.

Anyone know the speakers size for the front, rear and max depth of the sub that can be fitted?

Fronts - 6.5 inch
Rear - 5.25 inch

I used spacers in the front to allow the deeper speakers to clear the window. Bought some Corsa ones and they fitted perfect with slight modification to one of the screw hole mountings. I have an aftermarket DAB head unit powering them.

I fitted some DB Audio fronts that aren't the last word in hifi but are far better than the standard muddy units, although really you need an amped system and subwoofer because the Forester is a fairly noisy car when cruising at speed.

Do you have a part number for the spacers please, what spec Corsa are they for? I'll get onto my local Halfrauds and get some ordered...
