Homologation specials, in particular the rally refugees like the Escort Cosworth, Integrale and, later, Impreza, Evo, GT4 and the like really were the things that informed my love of cars. I've always loved special editions too - proper ones, not run out nonsense - like the GT3RS, R26.R Megane and so on...
So, it seemed appropriate that after many years of hard work that got me to the position of being able to afford something a bit special that it should be this that I bought:
I. Am. Thrilled. Fast, and so much fun to drive. And the carbon Recaros are mega - drove it to and from Sheffield and not an ache anywhere.
It's standard apart from a Miltek exhaust and an Andy Carr remap. I also fitted a Pioneer CarPlay head unit, which I can whole-heartedly recommend. Dead easy to fit, works a charm.
It's in outstanding condition, but I plan to make it better - sort of a bit-by-bit restoration.
