I recently had the BBR200 upgrade done to my wifes, sedate little roadster after pondering about it for sometime. Only complaint is from my wife because its so good, she never gets to drive the car.

Fantastic throttle response and more overtaking punch has made it perfect B road spec.

Thoroughly recommend it if you are thinking of something similar!

Not sure how easy this would be to get in NZ lol about £4k?

Tho I think I would want to switch from an NC 3 to 3.5 for this

If there is anyone down there who remaps these cars the main 3 ingredients is the 4-1 decatted manifold, the camshafts (can be gotten from BBR but I'm pretty sure Goodwin racing or Flyin Miata in the US have similar) and the remap while the NC1 can easily handle this amount of power

Did you have to leave the car with them or can you book for a drive-in-and-wait for an hour or so? I've decided to go with the 180 upgrade - not too bothered about the 20'ish extra HP - but better low/mid-end grunt would be nice.

Takes pretty much a full day. I drove down, left it with them and went for a wander. Pub meal, sat in a park and read a book. Just filled in time as best I could, he does have a tv in his waiting room as well.

That sounds like a plan - better if I can somehow persuade the GF that it's a day out in Brackley(!)
Will check out first if my local MKG3k garage fits BBR upgrades - that would be alot less hassle.

Wait until the F1 is on and book the car in on the Friday. Go and watch free practice while they sort your car out.

Not a bad idea, there really isn't much to do in Brackley, I walked to the Mercedes F1 factory literally just round the corner from BBR and you can't see anything. Thought about walking to Silverstone but you can't walk the roads as no pathways and grass verges are unwalkable. You can get a bus out somewhere else I suppose but (ironically) I spent more time trying to find something to do to pass the time, than actually doing something to pass time.

In fairness, if you work from a laptop, the Costa Coffee is a good starting point, then there are a couple of pubs that do good lunches and if you're lucky it's nearly 1400 and your car will be nearly ready. Otherwise, a good book... BBR isn't really geared up for customer waiting, maybe they will invest in a decent wifi, coffee machine, vending machine and sat tv at some point...
