We went to a small meet today in the town square. Not massive but very varied selection.

I am currently back in the North of England where it is hissing down at the moment and so I'm more envious of the clear blue skies than the cars at this moment.

Many towns in France seem to have clubs for car enthusiasts, rather than single marque clubs - which is the norm here.

It was a fine day for it. We will be seeing what other ones are like in the region. Was good to get out and away from the renovation for a while. I shall try and keep the sky out of the next set if it is blue!

I have a Corgi Floride in the same colour on the shelf in front of me now. It has a Wallace and Grommet model of Bardot draped over it..............

OK, I'm back.

It's amazing that some people don't think there's a classic car scene in France, just look at the stuff in the background of the pics!

A lot of the cars round us are daily use classics. So nice to see rather than the endless financed moderns that proliferate in the UK.

Apparently it is on the 2nd Sunday of every month. We should be going again next month if you fancy meeting up.

Indeed, there are at least 6 monthly classic meets within a 30 mile radius of where I live. Unfortunately, many happen on the same first/second sunday of the month.

Went to one yesterday in Lisieux where there were over 50 cars of all makes and ages.

Yes, the meeting on the first or second Sunday seems to be a standard. The Leclerc at Bergerac have a meet on the morning of the first Sunday whilst the Leclerc at Trelissac, has a similar meeting on the second Sunday.

I have been to the Trelissac meet several times and the range of cars and bikes to be seen, it quite impressive.

Really? I had no idea. I will be enjoying the delights of sunny Aberdeen at that time next month alas! If it's on in Jan I will certainly pop along and meet up. Drop me a PM nearer the time if you are going and we'll sort something out. Can you just roll up in your car and join the fun or is some sort of pre booking required?

In my experience you just rock up and if your car is considered worthy of display they'll tell you where to park, otherwise park up the road and walk around the cars. They usually are meant for anyone who happens to walk past to stop, talk to the owners, etc... rather than a closed group.

There often is coffee and nibbles available for a donation too.

As far as we could see it was just turn up in a car and find a space. If none park on the pavement or the car park over the road.

Is this happening this Sunday or have I missed it?
