Now that every human being on earth has a camera phone, where are all those UFO pictures? Remember you used to see those crappy always slightly out of focus pictures.
Some guy just happened to have a Polaroid when the UFOs appeared?

"Either it was all bullst or my theory is that the martians have decided, "Don't go down there man. All those fkers have cameras now.

George Clooney in Esquire

Damm good point, could it be that our little grey friends are camera shy after all ?

Search youtube for "UFO" and filter by results uploaded in the last month and you get 9000 odd results.

Not just photos, there's a bunch of released military files at The National Archives about UFO's and they include drawings!

Aww.... I thought this would be all about probability, ability, etc. well, I'll say my piece anyway.

I think with all probability that there is life elsewhere in the universe. I do not think we are unique in having a planet with life. UFO's on the other hand, unless they have some spangly technology it is pointless speculating about, I do not think we have been visiting, simply because the overlapping precision in their civilization, our civilization, and the distance between them, as well as the multitude of other planets and solar systems they could visit seems too great to be honest. Our own signals are only 100 light years away, and covers next to nothing on the grams scale of things. To the rest of the galaxy they have no evidence we are even here.

Some of these UFO’ sightings are real. So are also some of the abductions and a very few of the so called contact cases. The case I know best is the Meier case in Switzerland. Was member in his group until 2008. That case is real. Lots of hard evidence, photos, sound, landing tracks, super 8 over 200 witnesses etc.
Technology: Their crafts surround themselves with a magnetic field which is of a special type. It shines up at night and glows. Diameter of the beam ships 7 meter. This was verified in lab tests in the states. Using mother ship as hub for similar logistic purpose way as we use hangar ships. Massive size 17 kilometers in diameter reported http://meiersaken.info/mothership.html.
General problem trying to find out more about ufo’s. Every country has an UFO section as part of their intelligence organization. These are very active on the net and elsewhere. It’s extremely hard to know who you are dealing with on the net. Often they appear as experts and professional in the field. One of their aims is to make real cases look fake, and invent fake cases which they present as real.

This is the science forum. If you have evidence, show it. If you have woo, and tin hats, the lounge is where you need to be.

I never expected that these types of dumb threads would start making appearences in this forum. Could they be transferred to The Lounge where they can be discussed in the manner they deserve.

Guys, it's a new forum so there's going to be a bit of bedding in. We'll try not to move ste here, but if it gets posted our feeling is to allow you guys to deal with it rather than censor debate. So treat them like trolls and hopefully the few posters of woo topics will foxtrot oscar.

Obviously if this doesn't work we'll review things.

Does that sound reasonable?

Yes, because that works so so well in other topics relating to woo. Ref: mattnun in the current thread about religion.

I have no problems with debating UFOs or loony pyramid theories - but not in the science forum,.

No censorship is required or being asked for - just allocation to an appropriate forum.

I have to admit I lost interest in that thread long ago. Hundreds of pages of people with entrenched views refusing to see each others' points of view isn't really my thing.

Have you tried ignoring him?

As I say, this is a new forum and nothing's fixed. Perhaps we need a new woo woo smiley like this: woohoowink

Eta: Looking at it it does say woowoo. How's that for a happy coincidence?
