As mentioned the greens, and other interested (for other reasons) parties, will prevent the UK, US and Europe from making much progress in terms of new, reliable and viable energy sources. Yes wind and solar power is good but it isn't anywhere near reliable or scalable enough to supply 100% of a countries power. Progress will come from China as they seriously step up their game. They have more of a vested interest than many other countries due to their atrocious pollution levels and less opposition due to them not having to worry about silly things like free speech and the right to protest. We're being left behind, pure and simple.
