As long as the follow the rules we'll be fine:
1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
4. Classified ! 1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

People seem to be worried about the world being taken over and controlled by super intelligent robots.
And yet, totally unconcerned that our current world is pretty much already dominated by complete imbeciles.........
;-)
Also, most people / media view a robot take over as a physical attack with guns / weapons etc. Much more likely is a slow slide into machine augmented reality, with things like bio-mechanics leading the way to brain implants etc. Soon, the human body will cease to be the physical limitation that it currently is imo.

There is a transhumanist who's written some cool books running to be president of the USA in the next election, Zoltan Istvan.

I have no doubt that as time goes by we will eventually come up with a AI with the qualities the likes of which can only be seen in science fiction movies... Though I must confess to being a little worried about the idea of us being so tied up with the prospect that we could, that we forget to think about weather or not we should.
