The 10 Iridium satellites are in good orbits, so 100% mission success. beer

Just another 60 Iridium satellites to go.

The next launch is scheduled for 26th Jan from Florida this time. The payload is the Echostar 23 satellite.

Because their usual pad 40 is still being repaired, they'll be using launch pad 39a for the first time - formerly home of the Space Shuttle and Apollo programs.

They'll try to bring the first stage down to the landing ship, Of Course I Still Love You, a little later.

Nice to see 39A back in action. Let's hope they don't ding that one too.

they always look small due to being thin and tall, until you see it on a truck or with someone next to it...

Kudos to SES for taking the plunge, I had expected the first reuse to fly with a stack of pig iron on top.

I wonder who'll want to ride the third launch? :-)

Very brave to have a payload on the re-used stage.

I think if I was SpaceX I might insist it went up empty as you say - its a huge risk.

If the risk can be quantified into $xm and the launch cost is $xm cheaper, then financially speaking there's no change to the risk...if you see what I mean.

They're looking at just after midnight on Monday Jan 30th for the next launch. That's 5 am UK time. coffeesleep

It's seems that LC-39A isn't quite ready until then.

The next Falcon 9 launch on 30th Jan will not attempt to land the first stage, as the payload is too heavy ( i.e. over 5300kg ) to allow a fuel reserve for landing
