I had a look with my telescope tonight, it's a fairly big smudge, but you can see a 'core' to it or at least a denser smudge.

I tried to get a photo of it:

It's there, in the centre, honest!

Popped out for a look see and the skies were clear. Nipped in to get the binos and wispy clouds obscured the damned thing. Gave up in the end, though not sure what I will see against the pollution.

Last night was a good opportunity. I did have a search but just couldn't see it. It's obviously pretty faint.

Eric, it's quite clear in binoculars.

Last night was quite an easy find, find the pleaides then slowly scan to the right.

Did that - nothing.

I'll try again at the next opportunity. According to the charts it's already beginning to dim.

Thanks. I was using the Sky at Night magazine guide - which is similar.

Easily visible last night as a diffuse blob of light through a pair of 7x50 binoculars. Thanks to local streetlight pollution I could just barely make it out as being green

Finally got to see it. Not the most impressive comet I've seen but satisfying to say I've seen it - at last.

I had a go at capturing it before it disappears for 8000 years, I'm reasonably happy with this considering it's one shot.

You can just get the hint of a tail!

Last time we had a clear sky ( Sunday ) it was to the right and slightly below the Plieades - visible through 7x50 binoculars as a faint fuzzy spot. Don't expect to see it as bright as seen in photos wink

It's gradually moving away from the Pliaedes and getting fainter. It is nothing like as bright as in these (very nice) photos.

As you asked so nicely.........smile

Here is an unedited out of focus slightly crap photo that shows where it was last night in relation to the Pleades (bottom left). Obviously it will have moved since then, but does this help?
