According to my Stellarium, these two planets are VERY close together in the sky at the moment. They should be visible (weather permitting) just after the sun sets each evening.

Mercury is extremely difficult to see so this is a good opportunity to nab it because it will be right beside Venus and therefore easily locateable.

Any more info on this?

My telescope is set up at a east facing window. Ive only ever seen mars and that big white one.

Keep an eye on the sky, close to the horizon just after the sun sets. Venus is very obvious. It's the brightest object in the sky apart from the sun, moon and International Space Station. Mercury will be right beside it and should be visible through binoculars or a telescope.

Obviously, you'll have to move your telescope to a west facing window smile

The pair have been particularly good this week. Well above the horizon at sunset, and in such good weather. A really good spectacle!

I am in Dubai by the way. Sorry.

Too much cloud over here. I had a goof look on Thursday evening when we had a fairly clear sky - but there was a cloud layer right right on the horizon which seemed to be covering the two planets.

Finally got to see them both. They are lowish in the darkening sky at the moment and should be visible for the next half hour or so.
