Solar Eclipse March 20, not total for the UK, but close

As per title.

We should get a bit of edge of darkness, up to .8

Better get a new filter, and test a bio set up onto card.


Edit. Got 08:26 the moon starts nibbling away ate the Sun, give or take a few seconds. 10:34 moon departs the sun.

09:31 or there about, for the good bit.

Awesome, if i drive to Donegal for the day, I get 94.77 percent. I might just stay in belfast though, 92.98 percent isn't bad.

last one this close in uk was 1999?

iirc loads of people were dissapointed it didn't get darker.... lol.

That was total (in the extreme south west).

This one won't be.

There was a noticeable loss of light and drop in temperature in London during the last one.
This time I'm taking the day off work to travel further North for this one. I might not get another chance in my lifetime to experience a near total eclipse.

Most definitely a noticeable loss. I could see the shadow moving towards us, over and on its way to Falmouth from our vantage spot above Lanner. Even though it was cloudy. The birds actions were spooky.
