Is it a better alternative to quantum mechanics?

Pilot wave theory uses many elements of quantum mechanics but brings them together to form a more intuitive picture of 'reality'.

The main advantage being that there is no need to describe things as being in 'super-position'.

I heard a quote that I liked recently which went something like .... "is Science's aim to 'simply' produce maths that fit measurements and make predictions?, or is it to produce theories/science that accurately describe reality?"

As it stands there hasn't been a test that quantum mechanics has failed, but it does suggest some VERY strange/unreal goings on at the small scale.
Whereas pilot wave theory has an explanation that better fits in to both human-scale and microscopic scale worlds and eradicates a lot of the plain wierdness.
