Surprised no-one's started a thread on this already ( unless I've missed it )

Earlier haze has dissipated, hoping it stays clear....

Pre -eclipse ( experimenting with camera settings to get a decent image )

Thanks for posting! I was up anyway as I've just handed baby duty over to the other half. Had no idea there was an eclipse tonight. Had a quick peak out the window to look at the mist below us in the valley. Glanced at the moon and noticed oddly dark edge. Having seen this thread I've just gone back and taken a proper look.

Amazing how the stars have come out, you know the reason but the difference is staggering...

Moon blood red. Just a tiny bit of white at the bottom. Then in came the cloud.

Not even a single star out there now.

Bridge camera also useless - too dim for electronic viewfinder to register or focus frown

Had to get up early for work so no Eclipse for me.

Cracking result of the effects of the Moon on the tide locally though.

Got up at 2.45 and watched it until totallity. It is always interesting to see the background stars start to emerge as the moon grows darker.

Sadly I fell asleep around 2:30 so I missed it. The BBC keeps saying it's 30000 times closer instead of 30000 miles. If that was the case I think we may have felt a jolt. Also they're saying the next one is in 33 years time when it's actually 2033. Is it that difficult for them to get the simplest of facts correct? Hopefully when the next one arrives I'll still be alive laugh
Great pictures btw MartG
