Anyone notice how the main chute is flaring - looks like a jellyfish swimming.

Just an observation but I thought it looks quite cool

Pity the actual touchdown was hidden by that ridge.

ISS to Earth and arrived on time. A lesson for British public transport operators there!

The Soyuz has tipped over onto its side - which is not unusual.

Will they have the comfy chairs ready?

No doubt. It's probably a bit messy inside the capsule as they will be stacked up on top of each other rather than reclining nicely in their couches.

I noticed that too - it was very pronounced, given I assume the chute is very large.

Interested to know why.

I don't doubt its a highly proven system, but do wonder about the safety case and risks here given a single chute design etc.

Malanchenko is Mister Cool - as he should be as this is his sixth mission.

Tim said he'll miss the view.

Said it got very hot in the capsule. You can guess why!

The capsules are pretty well insulated so I don't think much of the heat of re-entry works its way through. I think it's just the fact that it warms up as it descends on the parachute and then gets quite hot and stuffy.

Like Malanchenko - they should all be given sunglasses to wear as I think they are finding the sunlight very bright.

Just pushed the capsule upright. It all looks so very agricultural - but it works. I wonder what will happen to the capsule. It would be nice if it was donated to the UK for display somewhere.

Landing was 8km off target - which is not unusual and doesn't matter too much.

Landing was average, apparently. Looks quite windy.
