Just returned from a family holiday to Florida

So close you can almost (but not quite) touch it

It is so awesome to see, I am lost for words

Eeek 56K warning! tongue out

That picture spazzes out Google Chrome & crashes it for me. I can load it with IE, but that's so fking terrible I'd rather not.

I think you need to reduce it in size and upload it again.

I got up close and personal with Endeavour when I was in LA. Quite a machine.

I was expecting a lost continent, and an outraged diatribe from Eric!

Watched this take off from Cape Canaveral whilst on a holiday to Florida when i was a kid.

Lit the sky so brightly it was possible to see the entire landscape for miles around, an amazing sight and something I'll never forget.

I'll see if I can get him going for you.

'Well anyway there's this lost continent right, a whole big one, and they say it's under the Pillars of Hercules which might be the Straits of Gibraltar, or maybe Malta. Actually it might be in the south Atlantic. Anyway there's this really big continent, full of Greeks and Romans and mythological creatures, that sunk under the sea in a big earthquake ages ago like Pompeii and they could all still alive and living in bubbles like Captain Nemo. Maybe that's where the UFOs are too, because they visit Earth but nobody can find one. I reckon they did the moon landings there too to keep them secret because NASA's astrology didn't work.'

That should do it [checks watch].

So could Atlantis have existed, and if so, where? hehe

bounce I'm off to Florida next year and negotiated a trip to the space centre with management when we were booking it. Eagerly keeping an eye on the launch pages to try to see a rocket launch while we're there too.

We're there for two weeks around mid October time. I see Space X are talking about manned flight towards the end of 2017.

You might be lucky. Keep an eye on the launch schedule section of www.spaceflightnow.com

I last went to the space centre in Florida when I was about eleven years old. I didn't really show much interest then.

I would really like to go back now I'm in my late thirties as I'm more interested now.

Secretly been planning something for maybe next year if the finances allow. My fiancée isn't too keen on Florida as she thinks it's all manufactured Disney pap. smile

To be fair, there is a lot of Disney there. However, seeing things like the space shuttle would make it all worthwhile. May wait until my daughter is at least three though.

He used to have his hangers open to the public. However, a couple of years ago he closed them. And then he started opening them on a limited basis.

Check to see what he is up to before you make a trip to view his collection.
